My Series of Unfortunate Long Lines and Bad Photos in Philippines Govt. Offices

I have changed the title of this post as there was this interconnected experiences that I have to most of the Philippines govt. offices and the article juice just went hype to my brain cells while again sorry but I have a thing of daydreaming while being a queen (hand tilted halfway to my mouth as if whispering to a person beside me;"again" as if;you know where I am).

I know that am not the only person who is being cursed on this kind of predicament everytime we try to get govt. related IDs and put ourselves as citizen in the database of our country and I know that there are some of you who even experienced the worst as to my yet to be told experiences.  And so I would like to hear from you too (much appreciated to hear that I'm not the only person who is dealing with this kind of un-progressive and a not so innovative way of getting and providing their services to us;just to be clear am giving out an accurate part of my tax to the local govt.).  

Before anything else or anything berserk happens after I publish this, I just want to inform everyone (if ever there are people reading this) that I'm writing this not to simply elaborate how bad things sometimes are in the govt. offices but to give you an insight on how things goes on a certain govt. offices in which you have to expect things wouldn't go the way it will but on every story there is always 2 sides.  I'm not saying that its totally crappy and bad - if only our govt. will organize things that would make it easier and more productive to both institution and to the Filipino people.  The thought here is that why can other countries process information and vice versa to the masses w/o wasting both of their time and our time.  Why can't we adapt a system that would enhance and make use of the relevant digital resources that is available nowadays. The moral of the story everytime I have accomplished each task here is that you've work hard and lined hard for it and after getting the goal, it was hard earned one. Your patience and EQ are tested.

PRC (Professional Regulation Commission)

My friend and I decided to register for the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) 2 days before the deadline in which we thought that maybe there would be few people who will be lining in PRC.  We met outside the office around 4:30AM and to our dismay and surprise, massive # of people are hurdling up to line plus we didn't know that there's a dress code and so my friend wasn't allowed to come inside the office as she is wearing shorts (well, that wasn't really shorts but a short capri).  And so we head back to my house so that she can borrow jeans or so and we went back and the effin' line just went imaginable.  The guard who is manning the office at that time, didn't open the doors yet and told us to make 2 lines, there are some people who pushed and deceived you that they were lining there and inserted suddenly. Around 6:00AM, we thought that things will go well but it was all the opposite.  There are some who are shouting and some were inserting again in the line.  Because we didn't picture out how bloody this office goes when its examination time is coming, we didn't take breakfast and we only brought with us are 2 pieces of crackers (darn;my stomach was growling and well I think that was why I was so thin;argh).  So by the time you look forward just to check if you will be near or whatsoever in the window because the line your at is totally not moving (so it's best to talk with your besties if ever you came with them or make friends with strangers;well fellow soon to be teachers) because it will take ages and forever to be on that very window and then realize that you will go to another step wherein you also have to freakin' line again towards a window.

The funny part here is that the place is too small where the lines on a specific window can't be determined anymore so there's a possibility that you are lining for the wrong one.  So if ever you won't be asking the person in front of you in the line then, better stay calm when you realize that you've got the WRONG WINDOW (#ikr; #facepalm).  I know that you want to scream and shout and let it all out (darn its a Britney song) but all you have to do is go to the THAT VERY LINE because the more you prolong your agony the lesser you'll get to the finish line.  We are almost done in which from 4AM we came out of the said bldg. like around 5PM.  Please take note that we didn't take breakfast and lunch so were totally like vegetables and food was the GOD for us (if you are emphatic with us), its like in a desert and we saw an oasis.  That's the analogy or actually our imagination that time.

Good thing by the time we came back to get our ID it wasn't that horrendous to bare but you still can't escape the "LINE" (its like am imposing twilight zone in your mind;peace).  I've paid around 1,500 to almost 2K Php upon processing my first time ID and by the time I had it renewed just this year, I paid around 800Php (and the waiting and lining was another story. :( )

NBI (National Bureau of Investigation)

What more can I say, I know how this office works and how things becomes a ruckus.  Just like no more renewals and all your previous details by the time you get your clearance are totally vanished as they will be implementing a redo on getting the clearance because they have a new hardware or machine.  But sad to say buying or using the holy grail machine as what you've mentioned haven't even solve the LONG LINES, EARLY WAKE UPS and DELAYED RESULTS.  This is a disclaimer though, that I have experienced this here particularly in the Visayas area I'm not sure with the NCR in which I do have watched some news regarding the complaints of some citizens but I do think that they have this kind of scheduling yourself online.

As for me, I've tried getting mine from Robinson Cybergate as they have as well promoted a mall site.  I do believe to lessen the people lining up in the HQ itself.  I went there around 9AM and I was like #240 ish (if I can still remember) and I would say that the people are a bit organized in terms of processing your clearance but I've observed that there were clerical errors.  There was a girl who went back to raise her concern after getting her clearance that the photo on it is not her.  Imagine if you got back after 2 days or a week to claim your clearance and have noticed that they have typed a wrong name or misspelled or worst its not your clearance at all.  And all hell let loose.  Actually I haven't gotten my clearance at all as I was too busy with work and okay got no time to go back to line and wait and wait.

I do know, right now that here in the Visayas, they are as well promoting the scheduling system through net so you wouldn't be lining up early in the morning just to get a priority number and hopefully this system or strategy works for the betterment of all (well if you have tried and still no good then you can comment below).  Just to add, I've paid around 150php (sorry if this isn't the correct amount as it was like last year).

DFA (Department of Foreign Affairs)

My first encounter with them was a bit easy breezy because my friend and I hired a travel agency to do all the nasty lining for us.  So we were just summoned to go and be photographed and answer some questions and check if the names in the system they have inputted were correct and that's it.  We've waited for a couple of weeks though to get our passport.  We've waited like a boss but actually we were pressured by our company to get the passport done as we need to fly somewhere (if you have read my blog you'll know where).

So the 2nd attempt was the so-so experience because I need to fly somewhere again in which I was just too lax to process my nearing expired passport.  As I thought that I can, you know pick up the phone and call the ever so trusting travel agency but guess what it all gave me sweaty palms and a bit of panic because I've processed my passport around May in which it will expire by June and I will fly to somewhere by September (grrr; game face on). In which DFA had a mandatory policy that travel agencies no longer can process passport on behalf of their clients. No choice but to go there and wake up early and again LINE (didn't I mention this?!).  I was on the 3rd batch of the line and we've waited outside of Pacific Mall as that is the new location of their office in which opens during mall hours.  So imagine some people are there earlier than me and the office will open at exactly 10AM (so who's fooling who?).  My number wasn't that bad, it was 121 and I was advised to come back at around 2PM.  I have decided to go back to work to be productive for the day and hitched with my friend who is also going the same way after our shift.  As soon as I'm inside the office, it was kinda organize and yes, line is still there but the staff are efficient and fast on processing the passports. And they keep on playing Mr. Bean on the wall mounted LCDs in which sort of entertained the people inside the office.

I have chosen a non priority  option so I've paid for the lowest amount, if I can still remember well, it was around 950-ish.  You have the option to choose on how many days would you like your passport to be processed or available and you can as well have it through courier.  As for me, I've opted for the normal processing which was around 25 working days and I've read some blogs as well so I've taken their advise to go there a day after or I think that was 3 days after the supposed claim date of my passport because sometimes (I just don't know why) but some of them hasn't really have processed the passport or to some sorcery your passport wouldn't be ready by the time you exactly go there to claim it (so much for the wait; it makes me wanna).

As for the photos, I don't know, I have this notion that if its for govt. related ones you should have either a neutral face (what's that even mean; for the world of selfie) or don't smile at all and my result was like I've been to prison and had myself a mug shot ( I don't know am really awkward when I know that someone is taking photo of me; I guess am not the model-ish type; GIVE ME THAT SMIZE!!!)

As I've said don't expect too much or this is too much (rolling of the eyes)

We always like to watch them on movies, TV series, posters and even on net, imagining that we are with them, that they are as well looking with their swoony eyes, calling our names with their musky, masculine voice and as if touching/tapping our shoulders or hands to stop us to whatever we are pretentiously doing.

It's like cloud 9, with the gushing of the air that flips your hair out of your blushing face and the very right lighting of mother nature that will reflect our youthful glow.  While he (our celebrity crushes) is slowly leaning towards us with the killer smirk and the very thing, the very phrase that we are dying to hear for (if ever any of these guys will do this to me I would literally be in awe and faint but for just a few seconds;I wouldn't want other girls to have the opportunity;selfish me; myahahaha)---"I Like You" and...

You were just the production staff, who is carrying all the heavy loads of props for the scene, the other girl who doesn't exists on their world who happens to be the loser in school or better yet it was cut short  because it was all in a blur and by blur meaning it was all in a dream.

We like them, love them and even sort of praise them (not mentioning the gazillion of photos, even photoshopped photos of you and "HIM" ta-gether; please don't forget the heart in bet.) but it will always be like that, we will only be one of the girls shouting their names everytime we see them on awards night, one of the girls who wants them to write their signature on whatever blank space we have (speaking of blank canvass;tattooed on the skin baby;am not that desperate), one of the girls who just look and open our mouths and after a second or so it was too late because they're not supposed to be in public and puff they're inside the van, we are just one of the girls.

As much as I don't want to be "one of the girls", I totally get it, they are just men, whom media or status quo invented for us to see as our prince charming or the knight in a shining armour that will sweep as off our feet and by that, sometimes we miss out the men that are with us, those that we've talked about our celebrity crushes and our mishaps, the one's that we've made fun of and doesn't really care if he looks silly infront of others as long as you smile and snorts, the one's that we hang out and just be ourselves, that we don't have to pretend and put so much effort with just to impress them.  

These men are there, just in front of us, just so you know girls, all you have to do is move out from your couch and turn off the TV, look up and away from your phone screen, get out of your room full of the photos-the make believe photos and his just there waiting for you.

P.S.

I'm writing this posts to tell not only myself but to people and not only girls that we have our very own life to work out. Those men in the movies have also lives to go to after they woe the girl in the screen.  We have our own destiny don't mirror your life story to and for others- make it your own.  Well, who knows you might indeed end up with your CELEBRITY CRUSH.

Coach Potato List Part 2: The Homo Superiors, A Team w/ a Long Meaning on their Acronym, 3 Girls and 1 Fun Night, & Ad Agency w/ Crazies

I'm sticking to my new mantra hence I'm officially loving my small screen netbook and the fact that I'm on house arrest (not that am grounded;pfft am too old for that kind of thing) for 2 days and a couple of hours from now due to the endless aftershocks and I don't know if those are still aftershocks or earthquakes as they kinda felt the same.

And now am in my electric fanned room to create this post as my bro is doing some renovations to our house plus am a lay back kinda gal (truth to be told am just wearing my pjs and take note its already noon time; oh shut up subconscious your ruining my reputation).  Anyways, I thought that there will be new stuff coming out and old once are either going in the trash or still reigning and so I would like to share to you guys the new list of my coach potato honor roll (yes, I changed it because it's more appropriate than the word "Addiction").  If you have read the Part I of the couch potato list, you'll know my previous likes but for now I'll give the floor to the new and hopefully not to be cancelled shows (it would be devastating to know that and it would be a waste of time;if only I could buy and continue the TV series;if only).

The 1st on my list is the break out groups (they are not LGBT or dance crew), The Tomorrow People are group of young individuals who have special powers and are on extinct due to the fact that a certain agency is after them.  The pilot episode for me is A grade since it develops well in terms with the main character but the way how the characters are introduce are sort of like X-Men-ish but my hopes are up for these Homo Superiors, as they have all eye candies on their female and male characters and the progression of the story makes you want to know what will happen next, in which I'll give them a check on "not dragging" (its part of my TV series checklist).  Just a trivia though, the said TV series is not new at all, as this has been aired in Britain and its taken from a novel of Judith Merril.  The American TV series plot is with a modern touch but it still sticks to the original context but it somewhat opens us to the next phase of the novel.  I want to see more of the powers coming up as you know this red bear, I'm a fanatic of super powers and I even wrote a posts bout it but still my favorite power would still be telekinesis and stopping time (God, I'm not you but if ever, I'll have those;twinkling of eyes).

Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division in short SHIELD, that's how long the title would be for this series and good thing acronyms were invented or it would be like everytime someone will ask me, what am I watching, I'll definitely be out of breath after I answer them.  And it would be one of the toughest test questions if ever this would be included on pop quizzes (well aside from PAG-ASA, NASA and so on).  This series is given, I mean if the previous TV series is from a novel and was aired way back on Britain, this one has been long seen and read on comics.  If you guys are going ga ga bout the Avengers then, you shouldn't be missing out SHIELDS as they were created after earth has been invaded by Loki (if you have watched the Avengers; then you'll know and I wouldn't like to summarize it here).  Coming from Marvel, this should have a total impact to the viewers hence, who doesn't like to watch superheroes coming out alive in true human form.  Their pilot episode was for me a so so but I made a thorough thought about it and I said it was Marvel-ous since these guys doesn't have those cool effects, powers and gadgets (though they have some) since they work and protect human kind (per say) through their knowledge, guts and physique- NO SUPER POWERS.  I've already watched 3 episodes and so far they didn't let me down, the frenemies and enemies that they've shown every episodes are getting pretty interesting and each characters have their own identity. As soon as I've landed on one of the character's name, Skye, I've said to myself, maybe one day I'll name my child Skye (lol).

Kimmie Boubier, is not a name of a Russian model/actress but she is a chummy lawyer, who have a knack of self absurd wackiness and cute clumsiness at the same time.  Together with her 2 best buddies, Marika, the strong (literally) willed and Helen/Alice, the nerd (btw, she looks like a mouse but an adorable mouse due to her huge lenses) they will make your ordinary nights super FUN! (night).  As for their innocence and maybe good luck on things  that the people whom they hang out with will eventually remember them for the rest of their lives.  I like that Rebel Wilson go for a TV series as I'm really a fan of her, as she is not at all apprehensive on showing or not really making fun of her let's just say chubbiness but instead it will make those girls out there with such built be confident and see Rebel as an inspiration for them to do the things that they love or should be doing irregardless of what status quo the society had set (OMG am now having a litany right now; just saying).  Hopefully, that the trio will not be out of juice of their funny antics and crazy night (xing my fingers).

Last on my list but definitely not the ordinary ones, "The Crazy Ones", is with a stellar cast, Robin Williams as the cuckoo father of Sarah Michelle Gellar (who is also working for her dad) and the president of the ad agency who almost got all the big companies but the catch is that if you work for this guy, you'll have to think out of the box and you must be prepared to go to work and see out of this world things happening in the office.  I was into this because aside from its a funny TV series but because Robin Williams is in there, well, I'm totally into his movies and hello?! who doesn't know that his the voice behind Genie in Aladdin (duh?!; I think I'm the only who knows that aside from the Disney fanatics and the people working in Disney).  Anyways, I'm totally rooting for this since their pilot epy was totally funny+ Kelly Clarkson is there doing what is not the usual of her, doing comedy (of course; she wouldn't be there to promote American Idol;whatevs).

Your resume is surely welcome here if your one of the crazies ;)

I'm still hook up with the previous couch potato list but there are some that I dumped because it kinda makes me feel like its dragging and the actors' performance is not improving but still it depends on how you see it guys.

Am Back!!! No more Mental BLOG!!! (oppss Block I mean)

I know that after ages of waiting for another boring and full of personal views posts, now am back! Yes, this is the true blue bear clicking the keypads of this little screened netbook (well, I've emphasized on the "little" screen coz I have an irritation on small screens).  You can pinch my now chubby cheeks, that is if you can let your index finger out from your monitor to mine (I'll bet on it;even if I'll wait for ages;tic toc  time is ticking).

I've been off this blog because there's this something that writers experience and its something not that it lacks inspiration, idea (I even got lots of idea bursting everyday, every minute) or even the resources to do it, its more of an angel and devil is playing in ones head.

Even in the bathroom while am sitting like a queen (but w/o kingdom), thoughts come rushing like tidal waves coming right at my brain cells and as soon as it makes the splash, I shove it off and puff---no blog post.

I tried reading other blogs, just to justify and remind myself that hey, I could be like these gals, sharing knowledge to people through their very own posts. I could let them know that I still exist and that was like ironic to my part because the more I do it the more I shunned the thought and its like its my blog who is trying to poke me hard on something to remind me that  eventhough there are not like zillion of people to care to read it or just even make a glance on it, its still part of me that carries an identity of who I really am when am not in school, at home or at work.  

So I thought, why I'm freaking afraid to even open my blog and if it even existed (stupid me, how will it stop existing when technically I haven't deleted the account;lol).  And now, I'm opening it and surprised that there are still people who read my no good articles (self punishing hag me; :P) and yet my 3 royal loyal followers are still present, just waiting for my  post.  

I created this mess so I should start and not end this, instead, I will even make more mess so that I could also mess up your mind (procrastination much?).

My mantra now is that I will make your reading lives more miserable with my goofy antics, daredevil-ish accounts (as if), feeling like a boss moments and most of the time none sense posts of my friends, family and myself.

I'm writing this after a day of 7.2 magnitude earthquake had struck our place and it did occurred to me that not everyday I'll be doing the same s***, so I remembered and had the courage to write back again because I may be reincarnated to my next life as an animal (I always thought that on my previous life I was either a queen or an actress;just a thought OK, no need to rebuttal and refute).

Coach Potato List Part 1: Creepy undead walkers, Hunky millionaire superhero & the Beast

Another roll of my ecstasy (just chill;its a figure of speech;so chill will ya).  I've been head over heels of the upcoming shows and yet I was confused since I've loved to really dig into The Big Bang and How I Met your Mother but sad to say I need to go on the aged episodes and I think I don't have time so, what I've decided for myself (of course, who else have cray2x mind here) is to find a new TV series that I believe would eventually make a descent 3 more season and stuff.  If you have read my previous "addiction" post about New Girl well am still stoned to it (don't ya worry guys/gays), I've just added new ones too.

This is not an additional TV series or not a new one either but I've just included it in this post since I've haven't managed to make a separate post for this TV series.  It had already 3 seasons running as of to date and grimly walking dead people are included (mandatory;for aesthetic purposes;LOL).  Nothing beats ZOMBIES.  The Walking Dead is currently on its premiere episode for Season 3 and I'd say that its a kick starter for any fanatic.  New setting and characters and well MORE ZOMBIES (why the emphasis??!).  Rick is still the head of the pack, minus Shane but I still do think that he'll be back and oh, well, what he does best-ruin and complicate things.  I know my post is a bit of a spoiler/s for those who haven't seen the premiere of S3 but let me just tell you the things that I've observed.  Carl, is already a big boy and ohhhhh, I smell adolescent here (freakin' auntie mode).  Glenn & Maggie is my bet for, they are like power killing zombie couples and speaking of couples, something is ensuing between Carol & Daryl but not really prominent and speaking of not prominent (God I just like the connecting words), Rick's feelings towards Lori is slowly wallowing to the grounds hence refer to S2 where she was about to abort the baby.  I won't be giving more details as I can see crossed brows right now and so they are in the most exciting place on earth, the PRISON.  A promised 16 episode for this season  (woot2x).

First glance in the poster on this TV series, I thought its another movie coming (you know superhero is so IN nowadays).  And so I've browsed and odd thing is that on our summer vacation our team opted to be Green Arrows (well something like that) and had the tarp made with Arrow (as in the character in the graphic novel).  CW had it aired last Tuesday for its premiere episode and thankfully it did not disappoint and waste my time.  I like their names and everyone in the www says this one should be made into a movie and I guess nah, should not be.  The story line is somewhat the same of Ironman but not totally, but there are obvious similarities.  Rich kid, womanizer and wasting money to some nonsense public humilation of the family name and then later on been gone for like 5 years, cast away in an unknown island that made him to a superhero in Starling City.  The thing that you'll hook up is the family, the people around him, the snooty detective and the island itself.  The episode is a good appetizer so to say -so I'm waiting willingly for the main course it has to offer.  But I just need the actor of Arrow himself to have a little bit of conviction, just a little tiny bit and where there (promise when I say a little bit its an itsy bitsy thing to add).

At first when I saw their promo poster, I was like nah, hmmmm and okay I'll try.  We have Grimm's brothers and Once Upon A Time so I was thinking what is different from this TV series.  Yes, they do have the title associated with the old tale of love -Beauty & the Beast but when you go through the plot and the character itself, everything is different not in a modern sense but it's with a sense actually (I mean I still believe in magic;yes I still do) but this one has its cause and effects.  They do have a low rating as of their pilot episode and still I have been keeping my hopes for this series.  This is a remake of the 1987 series but with a different twists and scenario.  Same name, Catherine and Vincent as the main characters.  Catherine is a detective who had been pursuing long time case of her dead mother while Vincent is secretly declared as dead to hide his current state after being enlisted to serve in Afghanistan.  Their lives had been interconnected to some bizzare murder case. And did I not mention that the leading lady role is the girl from Smallville?, Lana Lane?!.

Last but definitely not the least, American Horror Story-Asylum, their promo poster is epic for me and it did suggest something about the said season-sensually horrific.  The fact that eye candy Adam Lavine is one of the recurring cast and making the first scene of the first episode in ero kinda of way.  What you like about this series is that it gives you lots of unanswered questions and questions out from the answered ones (mind bugling eh?).  Asylum, as per say, those that were mentally incapacitated but the thing is that what lies behind the said place before it had become a ruin.  There's always a history behind all things (winks).

When I was little I've longed dream that I could teleport to any place that I like to go (yey, less money for VISA), have telekenesis, if I'm totally lazy and just be thought I'll look cool to have it and lastly to telepath.  I don't want to know what your gross or euphoric mind is thinking but I just want to think I know what your thinking and again its kinda cool but reality bites I could never have those things but still I've been to places I've never thought that I could be, I've managed to do stuff on my own, well, with the use of my sane brain and obvious hands and lastly, I've realized that it wouldn't that cool to read or know someone elses' thoughts, it sort of ruin the ability of the antagonist/s to do his/her evil plans towards you (smirks).

Been really trying hard but this is just the superhero get up that I can make out of scratch: SPANDEX PLEASE, Anyone?
