B.M.C.: Hitch knots, Hitch'd trekkers & bowl of Champorados

Theme: BUTYAG SA BUKID

That's what those 3 letters stands for.  Its sort of like a summer camp but its more focus on Dos & Don'ts when climbing.  This is very helpful, esp. to those people who are into such recreational activities.  As for me, I was introduce to this new hobby through my Ken2x (blushing).  My first climb (which was not a major one) was in Mt. Kan-irag (if you've been reading my other previous posts).  At first its just, you know plain trekking, then eventually if you'll be almost at the peak, it will no longer on plain ground trekking, you'll pass through rivers and terraces of plants and patched of cogon plants which by the way had definitely made some feather like scratches on my legs but as you progress the view is breathtaking.

That's why my feet right now is itching hence its been like May that I haven't climbed any slope or ridges due to busy schedule at work and stuff (grown ups). I'm super blessed being a member of ZETS since they never run out of outdoor activities.  Amongst the said activities is BMC.  Sir Paul was the accredited MFPI speaker of the said event.  There were 4 modules, that includes the introduction of rules before or during the climb.  Group or organization rules.  Orienteering and doing knots.  We should have tried the rappelling but then the weather was not good at that time so Sir Paul just show us how to do it w/o the harness (emergency cases).

During that night, we've managed to set our menu-cook rice and sardines but then everything went blurry by the time we have realized that the rice can't be cooked due to low heat from our burner and our HUGE pan (lol).  So what we did, we made Champorado (in English-chocolate flavored porridge).  Good thing our girl scout, Amy, had managed to bring a couple of tableas (in English-cacao slabs).  It had complimented with the chilly air in Gov. Leyson's Peak (our venue).  Ken2x was our chef and after he had served the dish, everyone were loving the Champorado.  After the sumptuous dinner, we headed to the hall for an awesome raffle draw.  The sponsor, Silangan had managed to come up with outdoor goodies for the all the participants in the said activity.  ZETS member had won lots of the major stuff.  Amy, got the trekking pants, Ken2x, got the neon blue belt bag, Cha2x, got the tent fly (forgot what its called), and Eduy, got the tent (which by the way, everyone was looking forward to).  The thing is, Warner and Kristine should have won some of the prices but there were so busy dozing off and got forfeited (hehehehe).

Oh, I forgot that when everyone was busy preparing their tents, ZETS were busy sleeping in a rented Japanese inspired cabin (yes i know2x but majority wins).  Though a bit dusty and I do believe that nobody had stayed there for ages but still, you can say that the care takers had managed to restore and cleaned the place.  The only draw back was the water, there is water alright but a colored water I'd say.  As Warner, tries to drain the water, it became clear again so by the very next morning people were busy lining up in the CR to take a bath.  Early morning equals to chilly water (hah! i just took a half bath though).  The very next day, was scheduled for a river trek, Ken2x and I wasn't able to join because I have a headache due to lack of sleep and my cough (thank you for sticking up in my lungs- mucous).  What we did was too predictable, because of the view, we managed to create and do some photo shooting.  While everyone was busy, surviving in the wilds-we were busy jumping, do some dramatic pose or just some monkey shots (ah life).

The Dos and Don'ts in full shots.
